Emily Seeley, 5 STARS: “Chérie Amour is the way to go if you’re looking into doing a boudoir shoot. The entire process was seamless, the photographers and staff are incredibly kind and helpful, and the results speak for themselves. My photographer Ashlee is truly gifted, and fun to hang with. I went in a little nervous/self-conscious but she made me feel comfortable, confident. She directed me through each pose and the photos were absolutely stunning. I left feeling amazing. My photo reveal session with Dru was equally wonderful. Dru was sweet, helpful, thorough, and never pushy. I ended up with a photo bundle I will treasure, thanks to them both. My experience exceeded my expectations!!! Book your shoot with Chérie Amour!!!” Danielle Garity, 5 STARS: “This was my second ever photo shoot like this and it was amazing! I won the shoot from a Bridal Festival and said why not? Scheduling and ordering the prints was made to be so easy (except for choosing which ones I liked best because they were all amazing). When I arrived at the hotel the photographer was so nice and high energy that I didn’t feel nervous or shy at all. Her demos on how to pose was super helpful and so was her confidence which made me feel like a sexy queen! I highly recommend this company! It is SOOO worth it!!!” Monique Ferrez, 5 STARS: “This was my first time doing anything like this and it was such a fun experience! I loved it so much and all thanks to Gretchen!! She was my photographer and made the whole shoot so enjoyable. She made me feel very comfortable, knows what she’s doing, paid very close attention to detail, and made the whole shoot an experience I’ll never forget!” Rosie Martinez, 5 STARS: “The best photoshoot experience I have ever had! This was my first time I have ever experienced something like this and when I tell you my mind was blown. I left the shoot so happy and confident, it was so amazing . I had the best photographer – Ashlee…. mann she was so nice and patient and pays so much attention to detail to make sure my shoots were awesome. 10/10! experience, I need to find a new reason to do another one lol.” Caroline Sylvia 5 STARS: “I had such a blast at my shoot! I went into this feeling nervous and a little insecure but my photographer was so fun and a great hype woman that all those insecurities melted away as soon as we started. I felt so powerful and confident and I’m so happy I did this” Holly Morel 5 STARS: “Honorable mentions: Amy (AMAZING photographer) & Annie (FANTASTIC image specialist). They are so so kind. Amy made me feel comfortable throughout my photoshoot that I was nervous for and, instead of feeling exposed and tense, I felt like a goddess! She did not allow me to doubt myself and it really helped with my confidence I have been battling with. Annie helped me through my difficult time choosing final images and was so patient with my indecisiveness. How did Cherie Amour make my experience so easy yet so difficult? They are so professional yet so relatable and human I can feel good in my own skin, they love people and really care. BUT they are so freaking good at their job, I want every last picture and every product and am sure I will be a returning customer. The skill is unmatched! Everything was perfect! Do not hesitate! Thank you Annie and Amy for being so kind, thoughtful, and patient.” Shay Drummond, 5 STARS: “When I left the photo shoot I felt like the sexiest woman in the world. It definitely lifts confidence, creates another level of self appreciation, and self love. Ashlee made this photo shoot an experience to remember. From start to finish she showcased professionalism, provided verbal support, and emphasized comfortability. The aesthetic of the hotel set the vibes for the entirety of the shoot. I would 100 percent rebook with this company and recommend you do as well. Side note, if possible request Ashlee you won’t be disappointed!!!”

What to Look for in a Boudoir Photographer

Boudoir photography is a unique and intimate experience that requires a skilled and experienced photographer who can create a comfortable environment for their clients. If you are considering booking a boudoir photo session, it is crucial to choose the right photographer who can capture the essence of your beauty and make you feel confident and comfortable during the shoot. Here are some essential factors to consider when looking for a boudoir photographer: Experience and Portfolio When choosing a boudoir photographer, it is essential to consider their experience and portfolio. Look for a photographer who has experience in boudoir photography and has a portfolio that showcases their work. The portfolio should contain a range of styles and poses that demonstrate their ability to capture the beauty and individuality of their clients. Personality and Professionalism A boudoir photo session can be a vulnerable experience, and it is crucial to choose a photographer who can create a comfortable environment for their clients. A good boudoir photography company should be approachable, friendly, and professional. They should be able to make you feel at ease, and they should be willing to listen to your ideas and preferences. Privacy and Comfort Privacy is a significant concern when it comes to boudoir photography, and it is essential to choose a photographer who can guarantee your privacy and comfort. Look for a photographer who has a beautiful and comfortable location where you can feel at ease during the shoot. They should also be willing to discuss your privacy concerns and take steps to ensure that your photos are kept confidential. In conclusion, choosing the right boudoir photographer is essential for a successful and enjoyable photo session. By considering these factors, you can find a photographer who can capture the beauty and essence of your personality and make you feel confident and comfortable during the shoot. How to Prepare for Your Boudoir Photo Shoot

You’ve done the first big step! You made the call, you scheduled your boudoir photo shoot, and now your head is spinning with the important question—“What do I do next?” A boudoir photo shoot is a powerful experience, something you may only do once, so it’s good to prepare thoroughly for it to ensure that you’re happy with your images for years to come. It can be extremely nerve wracking, but it is so worth it. We’ve compiled a guide on how to prepare for a boudoir photo shoot so that you can walk into your experience with confidence that you’ve done everything you need to do—from affirmations to skincare to financials. How To Prepare For A Boudoir Photo Shoot: Mentally First, practice affirmations. The more you love yourself, the easier it will be for you to love your experience! It can feel awkward at first, but a daily practice of standing in front of a mirror and speaking compassionately to yourself will slowly start to change the way you see yourself. Start with things like “I look so beautiful today” or “I am strong and good” and move on to “I deserve honor” and “I am worthy of rest and love”—we suggest doing this even if you don’t have a photo shoot scheduled! How To Prepare For A Boudoir Photo Shoot: Physically with Your Look Second, think about your outfits. What kind of feel do you want from your photo shoot? Are you a bright and bold kind of person, light and floral, or dark and classic? Do you love cute patterns or leather? Do you want to bring props or accessories? From there, start shopping or raiding your closet for things that you can use and feel completely yourself in. We have some favorite styles in our blog post about outfits for a boudoir shoot! Next, think about how you want your hair and makeup to look. Do you like a natural look or full glam? Retro-inspired? A little laissez faire? If you’re doing your own makeup, we suggest going with a heavier application than you’d generally do for everyday wear, as the lighting will wash it out a bit. For hair, remember boudoir is bedroom style—would you have your hair in an elaborate, perfect updo if you were hanging out in your bedroom? Remember that imperfection is a good look for boudoir photo shoots. Make a Pinterest board and sit with your ideas for a while before you settle on what you want. Once you settle that, consider your nails. If you want to come with a manicure done, make an appointment either the morning of your photo shoot or at some point the week before. A lot of boudoir photos put focus on your hands, so you want them to be fresh, trimmed, neat, and clean, whether or not you’re planning acrylics. How To Prepare For A Boudoir Photo Shoot: Financially Finally, the photo shoot is just the first part of the experience—after you have your photos taken, you’ll have an opportunity to choose your personalized package of images. Whether you choose an all-digital package, a discreet book, or a luxury album, you’ll want to plan ahead to spend a bit on your products. We generally recommend saving up around $1500 so you have plenty of options for your end package, but some clients spend even more than that if they fall in love with our luxury products. Start putting a little bit aside here and there so you can really treat yourself when you see the final product—you are worth it, and you’ll treasure these images forever. As always, remember that your session will be beautiful—your photographer is an experienced, compassionate, and caring professional. She’ll guide you through posing, through expressions, and through the entire process while you’re with her. Love yourself, take a deep breath, and get excited about this life-changing experience. You are worth it!
Where to Print Boudoir Photos: Privacy, Quality, and Other Considerations

I have my digitals – now where should I print them? Whenever you’re on a budget, it makes sense to try to find any way to cut corners with your boudoir order – it’s a luxury expense, for sure, but it’s wise to check out all your options for how to get your images into your hands. Many people search for where to print boudoir photos and come across services like Shutterfly, Walmart, CVS, and Walgreens. These options are tempting due to their affordability, but it’s important to consider privacy. While the risk of your intimate pictures being leaked may be low, keep in mind that the minimum hiring age at many of these stores is 16—sometimes as young as 14 in certain states. Additionally, none of these companies are exclusively woman-staffed. Beyond privacy concerns, the print quality can be questionable, often distorting the true tones and details of your images. For those wondering where to print boudoir photos with both quality and discretion in mind, we recommend either working directly with a professional photo lab or ordering through your boudoir photographer. Photographers typically have access to better rates than if you were to order directly from a lab and can customize an order that perfectly suits your needs. More importantly, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your images remain private and won’t be viewed by anyone you didn’t authorize. Choosing where to print boudoir photos is a personal decision, and there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. However, we encourage you to consider the quality, privacy, and longevity of your products. Boudoir is such a special experience, and we want you to enjoy your photos for a lifetime.
Black and White or Color?

Photography has been around for centuries and over time, it has evolved into various forms. One of the most significant changes in photography is the transition from black and white to color photography. Black and white photography was the only option available for most of the history of photography until the introduction of color photography. We are going to cover black and white vs. color boudoir photography, appreciating the merits of each and their differences so you can decide which style you want for your photos. Black and white boudoir photography is often seen as classic and timeless. It creates a sense of nostalgia and evokes emotions that can be difficult to achieve with color photography. Black and white photographs are known for their contrast and depth, and they can add an artistic and dramatic effect to photos. Black and white is also great for portraits, as it can help to emphasize your features and expressions without the distraction of colors. On the other hand, color photography is vibrant and can add a sense of realism to a photo. IIt is great for capturing the details in a scene, such as the colors of a set of lingerie or vibrant makeup. Color photography can also help to convey emotions, like including the warm tones of a sunset photo or the cool tones of a blue hour photo. When you select your images and styling, you’ll have the opportunity to have specific images edited to a gorgeous black-and-white style, but of course, you’ll receive them in color as well. In the end, the choice between black and white vs. color boudoir photography mostly depends on your personal preference and the intended message or emotion you want to convey. While black and white styling can add a classic and dramatic effect to photos, color photography can add a sense of realism and vibrancy. Both edits of photography have their own unique qualities and can be used to create stunning and impactful photos, especially in a boudoir setting.
Boudoir Vs Erotica – What’s the Difference?

As someone who started on the customer advocate team, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked whether we photograph erotica. The short answer? No. And that’s intentional. For some, this makes them feel more comfortable working with us, while for others, it may mean we’re not the right fit—and that’s completely okay! We understand that boudoir and erotica photography can sometimes be confused with one another, so we wanted to break down the key differences and clarify what we do (and don’t) offer at Chérie Amour. What is Boudoir Photography? Boudoir is about celebrating sensuality, confidence, and self-love. It’s an intimate and empowering experience designed to highlight your beauty in an artistic and tasteful way. Here’s what you can expect from a boudoir session: What is Erotica Photography? While boudoir celebrates sensuality, erotica photography takes a different approach, centering around sexuality and physical intimacy. Some key distinctions include: Boudoir Erotica Focus on sensualityGenerally in a bedroom settingNudity is encouraged if you’re comfortable with it!! Even with nudity, will not show genitalia More emotionally intimateA classic heirloom Focus on sexualityCould be in a bedroom settingNudity is expected! Will often show genitaliaGenerally includes sexual actsMore private for you and your partner Where Does Couple’s Photography Fit? Couple’s sessions can fall into either boudoir or erotica categories, depending on the intent of the shoot. However, at Chérie Amour, all of our sessions are one-on-one between the client and photographer. We do not offer couple’s boudoir or erotica photography. Is Boudoir Right for You? If you’re looking for an experience that celebrates your sensuality while maintaining an elegant and artistic feel, boudoir may be the perfect fit. Whether you’re stepping into this for self-love, body confidence, or as a special gift, we would love to help you bring your vision to life. If you’re ready to embrace your beauty through boudoir photography, we’d love to talk with you about scheduling a session. Contact us today to start your journey!
Boudoir and the Art of Storytelling:

Preparing for your photoshoot The beauty of photography is so much more than composition, sharp images, or modelesque subjects. Without a story, photography has no soul, no art. Part of why boudoir is so special is that it tells the most unique story. The story of YOU. To fully encapsulate the art of boudoir photography, we suggest thinking of three words before your photoshoot that you want to describe the feeling of your photos. Some examples would be, “Soft, feminine, gentle” or “sexy, mysterious, femme fatale.” “Powerful, feminine, fierce,” or “nerdy, fun, girl-next-door.” Thinking of what you want to portray and communicating that to your photographer will allow your session to truly tell your story. To truly have the soul and art that makes boudoir photography so special and unique. Another way to personalize your session is in your styling. Do you tend to keep a natural look? Don’t overdo your makeup for your boudoir session! Do you live in full glam? Keep it up! Do you like pastels? Steer away from neon pieces. Do you like a particular sports team? Wear one of their jerseys. Do you and your partner have an inside joke? Bring something that references it. This is part of why we don’t do client closets or makeup at Chérie Amour. Every client has a unique personal look and we love seeing how they bring it to life in their session styling. Nobody can share the story that you can. Nobody can make art like you can. Remember that when you do your photoshoot. We can’t wait to work with you so you can make the art of boudoir photography come to life with your story!
